Short Documentary Series
This part of the series focused on filming, storyboarding, and editing short documentaries that capture artists and organizations in their creative spaces. I worked closely with artists and the design team to plan and shoot footage that reflects each artist’s unique process and personality. Using DaVinci Resolve, I co-edited the videos, added titles, and crafted visual narratives that made each story feel personal and engaging.
Process highlights:
Collaborated on concept development and storyboarding
Organized and filmed interviews and B-roll footage
Edited video content to create polished short films
Designed promotional graphics for social media and web
Results:
The video series boosted Tri-Art’s online presence, with views increasing from an average of 500 to several thousand per reel. It also helped grow the Instagram following by over 10,000 people, expanding the brand’s reach and community engagement.
Tri-art: artist spoltights
The Artist Spotlight series had long been a way for Tri-Art to share the stories of creators in its community, but the range of artists featured didn’t fully reflect the diversity of the art world. I reimagined the series with a focus on highlighting a broader spectrum of artists and practices, while elevating the visual storytelling through original product photography and dynamic social media Reels. Still imagery captured the fine details of each artist’s work and environment, while video brought their personalities and voices to life—working together to create a richer, more inclusive portrait of the creative community.
By broadening representation and showcasing unique artistic perspectives, the refreshed series positioned Tri-Art — Canada’s leading paint manufacturer — as a brand that not only produces high-quality materials but also actively champions the diverse artists who use them. This inclusive approach helped strengthen the company’s connection with existing audiences while opening doors to new communities and markets.
Written Artist Profiles
Telling deeper stories through thoughtful interviews
Alongside the documentaries, I re-developed a series of written artist profiles to share more personal, diverse and detailed stories. Each feature starts with a relaxed phone conversation to understand the artist’s background, creative process, and what matters most to them. From there, I prepare tailored interview questions and conducted long-form recorded interviews to capture authentic voices.
I handled the full editorial process, including securing publishing rights and sourcing original artwork or images from the artists. These profiles provide a space for diverse voices and perspectives, supporting Tri-Art’s values around inclusivity and representation.
Editorial process:
Informal initial conversation to build rapport
Custom interview questions for each artist
High-quality recorded interviews with multiple devices
Full writing, editing, formatting and publishing of each article
Coordination with artists and their media teams when needed
Impact:
The written profiles were often used for collaborative Instagram campaigns, helping increase reach by hundreds of thousands—and in some cases, even millions—of views. We also printed the articles for distribution with orders and showcased them at trade shows, extending their impact beyond digital platforms. This ongoing series deepened Tri-Art’s community engagement while reinforcing its commitment to diverse and inclusive storytelling in the arts.
